It doesn't seem possible to do a solid bookcover?
I think this should be possible.

Hi Chanel -

Can you elaborate a little bit about what you mean by a solid book cover? We have 2 covers available right now: a picture window (that has a die cut) and a book jacket option, which comes with a removeable glossy book jacket, and the regular PhotoBook underneath with no die-cut.

Sincerely,
MyPublisher

I think what she (?) meant can easily be understood, looking at Shuttfly's solid bookcover. Quoth Shutterfly "Personalize hardcovers with your own title and photos, and add details to the spine?title, author, year and more"

That is what I would like to see at mypublisher! You can use a photograph as the hardcover wrapping from on side to the other. Having a dust jacket (as offered by mp) is nice but lets face it, take the photobook of the shelf a few times or have friends/family look through it and the dust jacket is quickly torn and damaged.

I mean a book cover without a cut-out...a solid plain cover.

Hi Chanel - at this time the only way to get a solid plain cover is to order a book jacket cover option and not use the book jacket (although they are really great!). The only other book option that we offer for the classic size book is a picture window (die cut). Our pocketbooks have printing that wraps around the outside of the book, and can be solid or whatever you'd like it to be, however this is a softcover book.

I'm looking at the shutterfly picture memory books too. 8x8 and 12 x 12. Pricing isn't the differentiator here as I just saw them end a 20% of all memory books special. The paperback books are nice as a casual gift but i would like to be able to give a printed hard cover back to my parents. I'm just not crazy about the dust covers since they do get torn and wear over time. For a wedding book, having the pics printed onto the hardcover directly like shutterfly would be the way to go. I prefer the layout options of mypublisher but looks like i will have to keep researching.

Hi Everyone-

Just to put my 2 cents in as both an associate here at MyPublisher in addition to a photo enthusiast myself, be careful with the options where your photo is printed directly onto the hardcover. The books I have seen that have that option look very much like children's hardcover books, and less like sophisticated wedding albums. We have specifically chose to go with the book jackets because they look so great and are of such a high quality. If you are concerned with the wear and tear of the jacket (although we have not seen any complaints yet!) I'd go with the linen hardcover option, which has a picture window in the center to showcase your favorite photo. They really stand the test of time and the deluxe books are quite impressive. They are 15in by 11.5in, the largest and best quality in the market. The paper quality is also very impressive.

Sincerely,

Isn't this all about the Mac iPhoto plug-in? Why isn't there one for PCs?
Thanks, Kathy

HI Kathy - the iPhoto plug in does have a solid book cover that has a label glued onto it. The plug in enables you to get all the products that iphoto offers at our discounted rate and superior quality. We have recently discontinued the MyPublisher BookMaker MAC & PC label options as they were very unpopular and our customers preferred the picture window.

Sincerely,
MyPublisher
