So far, I have read that the press will print at 350 dpi in Adobe RGB. Is there a color profile available for these books so that I can soft proof in Photoshop?

Thanks,
John

I think the Adobe RGB and 350 dpi are way off base. From what I've read MyPublisher wants sRGB or RGB files. I haven't seen a dpi setting for the printer. I have seen lpi at 175.

Having looked at the final product I'm thinking that MyPublisher is using an HP Indigo for printing. But that's just a guess.

However, your question is a good one, and one I'd like answered. Is there an ICC profile available so we can soft proof? And if so, where can we download it?

I received my books yesterday and the color, density and saturation are all dead on. I embedded all JPGs with AdobeRGB (1998) and set the rendering intent to Perceptual. I work on a LaCie electron22blue IV monitor hooked to my Powerbook. It's calibrated using ColorEyes Display PRO (the best and most accurate monitor profiling software that I have ever used) and an X-Rite DTP64 puck. The viewing temperature of 6500K.

If your monitor is calibrated properly and you embed the Adobe profile [I steer clear of sRGB since it tends produce slightly magenta prints] there's really nothing more you need to do.
