I'm trying to transfer photos from a CD to the Bookmaker software. In some cases, it works perfectly when I click "get photo" or double-click a desired photo.

But in other cases, the file refuses to load and I get a message saying "reason: Failed to read JPEG file: Unsupported. The image has 4 color components."

I get this message for both black-and-white and color photos. I've also successfully downloaded both black-and-white and color photos.

What's causing this and how do I fix it?

Thanks.

Ah - Clark - that is because your JPG is saved in the CMYK color space, not RGB. We require RGB. If you can change them from CMYK to RGB (or sRGB) you should be all set.

I don't know what that means. Can you give me any guidance on how to change the CMYK color space to RGB?

Where are your images from? Did you take them yourself with your own digital camera? It is a setting on your camera or you can change them with a photo editing tool - like PhotoShop.

I found that if I opened the photos in Microsoft Picture Manager, hit auto adjust and then saved them, Bookmaker would then accept the images.

So it all worked out.
