"processing photos" for hours

I am trying to upload and all that will come up is processing photos. I need this order for Christmas - help!!

Hello - what type of a connection are you on? Do you mean "optimizing photos for upload?" Does it get stuck at the same point each time?

My book is doing the same - "please be patient while we upload your book" and then it just says "Processing..."

It's been like that for ages - is there an average time that it should take to upload a book? Is it right that it might take a couple of hours if there are a lot of photos in it? Is there any way to know how far through it's got or if it's just died on me?

Hi there,

I killed the session that I had going that said it was "processing" my upload... I dug around on the site and found an earlier recommendation to use Mozilla Firefox instead of internet explorer, downloaded this and tried again. This time, instead of blankly saying "processing" and not doing anything, I could see the progress of the upload and it uploaded in maybe half an hour.

I would really recommend putting some comments like this on your help page as regards uploads as that is obviously the first place anyone would look if there are issues. As a first time user to the site, you don't know if it's right that it would be taking hours to upload and so just leave it as there's no indication that anything's wrong.

Sounds like the upload was interrupted. Try it again. It shouldn't take more than 1/2 hour maximum on a high speed connection.
