I have been working to collect family photos from over 65 family members for almost a year now. When I started I looked at, I think, every website that offered a photo book. My Publisher, by far, surpassed all other competitors with their quality and number of photos available on each page. I will be presenting this family album with 57 pages and 433 photos to my great-grandma, who was 89 in August on Christmas day. This is the most time I think I have ever spent on any one gift and by far the most challenging, but thanks to My Publisher my dream of making a family album a reality has come true. It looks beautiful on line and I can't wait to actually see it in person. My family is going to love it and I know my Grandma will be very happy.
Thank you all so much for doing such wonderful work!

Ok, so I just received my Grandma's album from My Publisher and it IS as beautiful as I could have imagined. It has already brought several family members to tears, so I know my Grandma will LOVE it too! Also, I have to say a special thank you to the staff at My Publisher. For some reason there was a slight error in the formatting process and the final copy of my book was not as I had planned for on the first page. The My Publisher staff contacted me immediately and helped me through getting the book just right - without additional costs to me! It is amazing to find a company that stands behind their business and their products in a day and age when most are too worried about their bottom line to make special time to help a customer get something as important as this is to me right for my Grandma. I just want to commend the staff for going the extra mile. It is greatly appreciated and I am excited to see the finished book, and still in time for Christmas! Most companies would completely overlook the small details but not the staff at My Publisher. So THANK YOU!!!!
Another important factor about the finished book that I was really worried about was how the photos that I had scanned would actually look once printed. I can tell you some of the photos are of my Great-Grandma who is 89 years young and they are of her as a young girl. The photos were scanned in on my home hp printer/copier/scanner and I scanned most of them at 300 dpi, however, much older photos were scanned at 600 or even 1200 dpi as I wanted them to be as clear as possible. Also, I edited almost all photos in Adobe Photoshop Elements before uploading into My Publisher - which made the process much faster. After all of this - the album looks beautiful and although the vintage feel has been maintained in the photos, their image is as clear as on my computer after scanning.
I hope this info will also help you for your albums! I know this one won't be my last :)

Your Family Album is beautiful. I'm scanning hundreds of old photos from as far back as the 1800's and your album has inspired me to finish scanning so I can make my book. It would have been great if MyPublisher had a family tree where you could have put in all the names. I haven't looked at the most recent update to see if they added one.
Most of my photos are 2" x 3" or smaller so they would fit in the small frames. I'm glad to see you used so many on a page which gives me an idea of what I can do. Was your book a Classic or a Deluxe? I'm scanning at 1200 dpi and resizing in Photoshop and the details are very good. 99% of my pictures are black and white so I'm thinking of changing the colored ones to black and white so the album is consistent.
Even the pictures that are scratched and torn look good and antique. I can clean some of them up in Photoshop but for the most part, I want to leave them alone. I'll just remove the big black spots or anything like that but leave the rest as history.
Thanks for sharing...

Hi!
That is so wonderful that you have that many old family photos! In the family tree pages - which I used most throughout the book there is a section under each photo to add a name or caption - I just chose not to. Hope that helps & enjoy making your album. Also, please share it with us when it is done!
