I've exported my book from laptop to desktop.
i open the dime and view the files fine on the first time on desktop. when i start to select a different book style, it is downhill from there... i've got the message: "fail to create book folder".
now, i can't open it again from the imported on desktop.
i've done copying over the orginal dime in laptop, which still work, but, the desktop just doesn't understand it.
i'm freaking out. please help.

Did you try to change from a MAC or PC?
Where did you open the dime file? In BookMaker?

you still have it on your laptop right? No need to freak out just yet then =)
My advice is to try another export from the laptop. If that doesent work, I have some other suggestions.

very odd.
The next step would be to completley remove mypublisher from your computer. you need to uninstall it, then once thats done, you need to delete the folder located at
c:/documentsandsettings/"username"/application data/Mypublisher
that will get rid of everything related to mypublisher. then try to install it again, and see if the import works.

I'd agree. It sounds like there is a conversion error and it won't allow your book to change styles. Do you have the same themes downloaded? Try creating a NEW book with the book style you wish to use. Let's see if that works. Once it is loaded, maybe you will be able to import and switch book styles. Let me know!

thanks for the suggestion.
same error even if i create either
1) same book style, modern, and same size as one created on laptop or
2) different book style, bestseller, on same or different book size.
please help.

I'm sorry but I am afraid your dime file might just be corrupt or incompatible. I wish I could offer some other suggestions.

thanks for your replies.
would you check with the R&D and see what is the issue?
reason is that i've exported it many times, i doubt it is corrupted during the export.
i've also notice the application is an in-memory processor intensive application. can you tell the folks at R&D, err ... in indian???, to optimize this java appl? or port it using .NET directly?
this appl is very much at its alpha stage.
thanks.

I will pass this along to our developers...who are all in the US. We don't outsource development to India :)
