I've seen a couple different sizes that we should scan our pictures to ensure the photo does not compress and become blurry during printing.

I am making the hardcover book (11.25 x 8.75), and have a few pictures already scanned at 5.5 x 7.5 and 300 pixels/inch. The pictures I have scanned at this size will be pictures that are not full bleed, but only one picture per page, so it will be larger on the page.
Are my 5.5 x 7.5 scanned pictures going to get blurry in printing if I upload them to Bookmaker 2.2?

If so, what size do I have to rescan them all so that I am ensured that they will all look as clear as they do in my hands.

Thanks much.........and to MyPublisher..this would be very good information to put in the "help" section while making the photobook (if it's not there already).

I don't know what brand scanner you have but the manufacturer may have some good info on their site. I'm a rep for Epson and they do have recommendations for resolution appropriate for intended use of the scan. the smaller the original the and the larger the print will need greater dpi. You can then save the enlarged image at say 300dpi (which is a fairly typical resolution for Epson printers for an 8x10 print). Epson has scanners that can produce great prints at 13"x19" from a 35mm slide. Hope this was helpful. Bob

I recently made a Deluxe book (which is the largest size). I scanned a POSTCARD and did a full bleed of it. Yes, it was a risk! =) Although it was slightly grainy, for my purposes it was fine. Because of this I would feel you would be safe with the way you are doing things. Just my opinion though from my experience.
