View Full Version : Folder Listing Not In Order

I have just finished creating my first photo book and have successfully uploaded it... can't wait to see the final results! The only problem I had with the software was that my folder listing in BookMaker is all out of order.
I have all my photos in folders created by my camera software (ZoomBrowser EX) according to the date the photo was taken. Normally, in Windows all the folders appear in chronological order (2007_06_04 etc.) but in BookMaker, it skips around so it is difficult to find all the photos I want to include in an album. The Windows refresh key F5 doesn't do anything. Does anybody have any ideas how I can get BookMaker to display my folders in order?

Hi Midvale -
I'm sorry your folders did not appear in order. I actually find that my folders appear in alphabetical order. I'd recommend trying to alphabetize them, you might have to change the folder names and see if that works.
Sincerely,
MyPublisher

Hi,
In Windows explorer, they appear in order. I would rather not change folder names since they are automatically created by my camera software and it's usually an easy way to keep them in order. I just append a description to the end of the folder name, e.g. 2006_12_25 Christmas Day. Numerics should order themselves sequentially and place themselves ahead of alphas, (2006_12_25 xxxxx would be placed higher than 2007_06_06 xxxxx) but I can't find any way to sort them in BookMaker.

I didn't see that this was resolved, have you had any luck getting your photos in order? I can get my pictures to show in chronological order in 'My Pictures' but once I upload to MyPublisher they get all crazy and out of order and I can't make any sense because it is definitely not alphabetical. Customer service seems to be useless. Would love to know if anyone has suggestions for uploading hundreds of photos and I want them to stay in order. I just want to make books for each year. Help.

Hi R,
No, I never did get my photo listing in order. I ended up having to flip back and forth between BookMaker and a Windows Explorer window to make sure I had accounted for all my folders. Once I uploaded them to BookMaker, they did appear there in the order in which I uploaded them, it was just a major pain browsing through my folders and selecting the photos.
On the plus side, my album arrived on time and it looks great!
