I have made several books for my customers in the previous version. The latest version, which I am running on Windows 2000 SP4 with 6gb disk space and 1gb ram, no other programs open, crashes quite often when I am paging through a book (20 pages) or adding pictures. I followed tech support's advice and exported all the books I have created, with the exception of the one I am working on. Still crashes. Moreover, I cannot open some of the archives! I get the message "could not create the folder"

This is devastating to my work. If anyone can help me retrieve the .dime files, at the very least, I would be happy

Seems like this crashing issue is cross-platform. I am on a Mac and the 2.1 software crashes upon loading. I have two books I really need to print. Get it together, guys.

Me, too!! I've tried emailing mypublisher but haven't heard back yet. I'll try to do the technical support you mentioned, but if I lose this book I'll be very very unhappy. My crash happens when I try to go to page two - I can't even get past the cover. Any suggestions?? Or is my book lost? (Please don't tell me it's lost.)

jkbybee, try switching to the all page view, and see if the program shows your entire book. then, you can go to the page you want by clicking on it. That worked for me for a while, but now the program won't even open a book I've been working on, not to mention it doesn't open any of the .dime files I archived. The previous version was fine...I made several books. But this version is awful, and tech support is unresponsive. I will probably have to go with a different program altogether, for example, Blurb.

Hello, regarding BookMaker 2.1 crashing, please check what version you are using. We have recently posted a new build of BookMaker (for PC) 2.1 build 1971. This is available off the MyPublisher website. It is not a forced upgrade but should eliminate the crashes you experience.

I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
MyPublisher

i have v 1971 installed. I cannot open any of the .dime files i created in this latest version. I can, however, open a .dime file from a book that I created in a previous version, loaded in the current version, then exported.

I wanted to post what I sent over to customer service, in case someone here has found the answer...

"I am in need of a quick response. I am attaching the crash logs(I cannot attach them here) that I have received every time I try to place an order. This is quite frustrating. I need to get this order placed, not to mention the time this has taken up. Please, can someone get back to me today?

Yes, I have the latest version of Bookmaker- just downloaded it yesterday. Yes, I have tried multiple times. Yes, I have rebooted my cpu. Yes, I have a good internet connection.

I am trying to upload the smaller paperback book, in case you need to know. It has about 25 pages."

So, I have 2 questions.
- can I open an old version of bookmaker and use the book I created in the newest version, or would I have to start from scratch?

- if I were able to get using an older version of bookmaker to work with what I created, can I still get the current coupon being offered?

All of that aside, this is incredibly frustrating. There is no way to call My Publisher, and while I do hope to get a response, in the past 2 years I have emailed or sent a msg through the site, and have never received a reply. I hope this turns out ok, as this is a book that needed to be done yesterday.

Hi Sindea - I personally sent you an e-mail to try to work through your problem on 6/12. I'll e-mail you again off line. The e-mail did not come from customer service. Please post again if you don't receive my message.

Sincerely,
MyPublisher
